about

Maltash is J. Jadam, a core member of Avril Spleen who on this debut release fused a sick concoction of deconstructed dance music, darkwave punk and metal(s). A jet black sense of humour backs up the conceptual spine the release stands up with, one of laughing in the face of meltdown, not devoid of love but sick to death of false emotion.

'Everything Is Coming Up Broken' and "Wassouf Can You Hear Me?' open the record in a meltdown of pedal noise, field recordings, distant radio transmissions and heavy AF lo-fi splinters of gut-kicks and blackened melody.

'Khatem Hobbi' smashes open with Tarab riffing in a nu-zone while EP highlight 'Kind Menace' slows accumulates energy and intent with a slow burn of Arabic melody on frozen black metal guitars allowing void and space for Jadam's coruscating vocal performance to reach its zenith. The EP closed with 'Banksak' a time-step back into chorus-lush darkwave guitars, aggro sneering vocals and a melody that conjures false memories of electro as a garage band project and not the machines of Detroit.
