Is bacterial a genre? Can you envisage it?

SDEM displays six petri-dish samples of sound approaching music but more akin to the chaos/cosmos of the bacterial world. Wielding a Machinedrum like a surgeons scalpel through these six pieces, we enter the suffocating complexity of electronic music atomised and recombining with a barely there AI at the helm.

‘I Couldn’t Shake The Dread’ warns of the way ahead, with ‘Pranging’ a flickering memory of something familiar but obscured by sidechaining slashes. ‘Tangslill’ moans a karplus-strong hymnal to the steam in pipes before tempo flares on ‘Usens’, which evolves into an almost-calm struck with brain fever. What happened? ‘AIIFC’ ensures we will not remember, a sound poem for looking directly at the sun.
