Returning to the original moniker he used for productions in the mid-00's, Eindhoven's Albert van Abbe (Figure Jams, Semantica) issues a beautifully poised collection of funky, metallic minimal.

Imagine Ø (Sähkö) pushing beats out and around a Bertoia installation and you're not going wrong. Gorgeous, billowing resonances float around the stereo inter-lit by capricious hats and that funked out, subdued thud. 'Nonfunction 03' reaches forward and backwards, like some forgotten Likemind Records bit, the expert balance of optimism and dread. "Nonfunction 05" up's the res for a soft-nightmare of a trip into iron pipe spirals and negi-shuffle. This track is picked up for a closing remix from Basic House, who flips the metallics into a bruised dub-tech version.
